What fits in 1 minute

One minute is a reset, not a work session. It is long enough to:

  • Take ten slow breaths before a presentation or an exam.
  • Stand up, roll your shoulders and look out of a window.
  • Write down the one thing you are about to do next.
  • Give a class a countdown to finish their sentence and put pens down.
  • Hold a plank, or stretch one muscle group properly.

Day math: a one-minute reset every hour of an 8-hour day adds up to just eight minutes, and gets you out of your chair once an hour.

Want breaks built in?

The closest interval method is the 25/5 Pomodoro timer: 25 minutes of focus, then a 5 minute break, on repeat, with a 15 minute break after every 4 blocks.

Yes. It works well for one-minute talks, elevator pitches and language practice. Turn on classroom mode for large digits, and choose a soft end sound so it does not startle the speaker.

You can pick the end sound and your device controls the volume. For a room, turn the device volume up and test once before you start, since browsers only play sound after you have interacted with the page.

Yes. Switch on rain or open the Nova Classical playlist, start the minute and breathe slowly until the chime. It is a simple reset between tasks.
